每年的12月份，各大报刊都作了大量的广告，以期留住老客户，吸引新客户。在今年的元旦伊始，我到收发室拿报纸，看到这样一则通知，本地的一家晚报向各个班赠送一个月的报纸，并且可以在以后进行破订。我当初没有注意，商家总要赠送一些使用品嘛，报社的这种行为当然也是可以理解的，不过令人奇怪的是，一个月以后，这种赠送行为仍然在进行，我就有了疑惑。从订报者如一个班来说，在元旦这几天如果要订一份报纸的话，那么就会选择用较少的订阅较多的报纸，也可以称之为追求阅读福利的最大化。那么，被赠阅的这个订阅其他报纸，其阅读福利肯定会比订阅那份赠阅的报纸要多。报社的赠阅行为岂不是相当非理性？其直接后果是驱逐了其中一部分本来会订阅该报纸的客户，大部分报刊是不会赠阅的。报社的这种赠阅行为怎样做到追求利润最大化？
