George and his family live in an apartment. It’s comfortable. But there isn’t enough room for the children to grow up. George and his wife had been looking around for a bigger place. The first place they saw was a bit too far from where they worked. The second place had plenty of space but hadn’t a garden where the children could play. Then they visited a third and a fourth place. Both were too expensive. They nearly lost hope. Yesterday they came across a real cheap house-a four-bedroom house with a little lawn(草坪 ) at the front. It ’s just what the children ennd. But the kitchen is in a pretty bad shape. They need some extra money to repair it. So today George drops into his father’s place. He tells his father he needs to get a bigger place and asks for a loan. His father isn’t sure if his son will ever be able to reture the money. After a little thought, he says,“ You grew up without a garden of any sort. ”
