Assignment of E nvironmental P sychology in Architecture and Urban Design The course focuses on applying environmental psychology theories and research approaches in explaining various built environments , and relationships with human behaviours, and how these could be integrated in the architectural and urban design. Thereby, the final assignment is to examine the abilities of how graduates grasp the knowledge via evaluating an environment that was established in virtual reality (VR) . You will select one type of a built environment to do subjective evaluations. The work will be done mostly by yourself, but the VR video will be from your study group. Each group has to finish at least two VR video for evaluations. The VR environment is based on a real site. In your work, at least five subjects have to be concluded. They will participate your VR experiment . In the VR experiment, you will give the questions referring to the key relationships of the built environment. The question selection is very important as they were from environment psychological knowledge you learned from the course. You should pay attentions on relationships of the physical settings and individual perceptions due to your selected built environment. The final submission form is a study report to show how peoples’ evaluating the environment and what are the problems of the environment. It is encouraged but not compulsory to give solutions to cope with the environmental problems. It is also encouraged using drawings to show your design concepts in solving the problems. This assignment is required in English. This final assignment contributes 80% scores to this course’s transcript. Your previous works will give another 20% if you have already finished .
