Former Railroad Town Celebrates its Centennial Stayton Corners, which started as a railroad town 100 years ago, will hold its centennial celebration this Saturday, October 10. The event will feature music, poetry, and other entertainment, including speeches from well-known residents like Judy and Belle Hawkins. The Hawkins sisters, who grew up just after the first railroad was built, witnessed the transition of Stayton Corners from a small railroad town to what it is today.
