Recently whenever I drive home from work, I always see a young girl carrying a sign for a pizza place saying, “ Honk ( 鸣笛 ) if you like us! ” . As a young girl, it takes her courage to walk up and down the 1 every day during the rush hour as a number of cars run by her. 2 , I never hear anyone honk. So, the other day I 3 , And since then , I’ve looked for her and 4 she’s out, I honk. And why? The smile on her face is wonderful to see. It makes such a big 5 to someone else. Why is honking the horn so important? It’s a connection. I’m making a connection with someone else and saying, “Hey, I see you there. You are not 6 ,” Just imagine walking that sidewalk every day with a sign hanging around your neck , begging people to notice you, and no one does. How do you 7 ? Yet, many of us do this in our own lives. We walk through our days just 8 someone will reach out to and connect with us. We wish someone would notice the desire ( 渴望 ) in our 9 when we talk about something exciting and ask us to tell them more. 10 waiting for someone to connect with you, why not reach out yourself? Be brave and hold the _ 11 open for someone else. Smile. Have a conversation while you’re waiting in line. Share a(n) 12 , e ven putting yourself out there and telling people what’s going on in your life and what you’re feeling will encourage others to do the same. If you have the 13 to reach out to someone else, not only will they feel , but you’ll feel 14 too. People will start to 15 that they don’t need to walk through life on their own. My suggestion : ask someone out for a slice of pizza and leave your phone at home.
