- Please take a look at the list of topics from the 湖南省第三届高等学校涉外办学, choose your favourite passage and write a 3-minute speech in English (min 2 min 45 sec, max 3 min 15 sec). - Your speech HAS TO be on one of the 20 topics from that list. - Take a closer look at the other .pdf document I've sent ( Hunan 3rd Speech Competition questions and notes on topic 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 ), these are my personal notes on 5 of the topics I made when I was preparing my students for that competition. It would be best if you tried to do the same kind of brainstorming for your chosen topic, get as many ideas that come to your head when you think of your topic and after you've read the passage. Put all your ideas and arguments on paper, so that you won't forget them. It's very important that you write everything in your own words, that will make it easier for you to remember the ideas and arguments. - You can use the information in the passage/article, but you are also free to make your own research and use information/ideas/statistics from other sources (including my own notes). - After you have written your speech, present it to the members of your group and ask for their feedback. Think critically of your own performance and their advice, remember that constructive criticism is always welcome (appreciated), try to improve your weak points and then record your speech, save it in the .mp3 format and upload it to 超星. - DEADLINE: 5 December, Tuesday, 10:30 pm (22:30)
